Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Training
Capitol's Training Team, headed by Troop 436's Donald Hill, put on an incredible Outdoor Leadership Training this past weekend. Thirty-Five Scoutmasters/Assistant Scoutmasters attended the event including one leader from the Stonewall Jackson Council. Here are some pictures from the Training.

Journey To Excellence
The Capitol District achieved Silver in the 2011 Journey to Excellence! Individual Journey to Excellence patches for each unit can be ordered from the Scout Shop!

Happy New Year!
Hopefully everyone had a safe and enjoyable New Year!
Several cool programs are being offered for youth and adults over the next several months. If any of your boys are interested in working on their Communication Merit Badge or Public Speaking Merit Badge, there is still time to sign up for the Patrick Henry Program. If any adults still need to complete some training or want to have fun and take a refresher course in scouting, there is still time to sign up for the Commissioner College or the Outdoor Leadership Training.

Congratulations to Nick Minetti who received the Commissioner's Key Award at the December Roundtable! His work with Capitol District and with Troop 429 has been truly exceptional.
Scoutmaster Outdoor Training
Capitol Distict will be running the Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Outdoor Training program February 25th and 26th at Camp T. Brady Saunders. All Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters are required to have gone through the Outdoor Training. To sign up go to doubleknot.com (the link is in the Scouting Links toolbar)

Roundtables are conducted the first Tuesday of every month at the First Baptist Church on Monument Ave. Meet other Scouters and share ideas! The next Roundtable will be January 3rd at 7PM.
